Gordon and I have now been married 12 years! To celebrate Gordon planned a trip for the two of us to go to Seattle. Gordon has been to Seattle a bunch for business, but I have never been and it's only three hours north of Vancouver. Anyway, I was really excited to go and check out Seattle.
We started with a lovely dinner at a restaurant overlooking the Puget Sound. We enjoyed the amazing food and watching the sunset. We also walked to the restaurant from our hotel along the waterfront which was really nice too.
The next day we hit it hard; Jensen style or should I say Gordon and Angela style. :) We decided to get the Seattle City Pass and jam it into one day. We started with going up the Space Needle and seeing Seattle from above. Then we moved onto the Pacific Science Museum. We saw a cool I Max presentation on planes, saw dinosaurs, made silly faces, and wondered at beautiful butterflies.
Then we headed toward Pikes Market Place for lunch. I have never been in a market like this; I couldn't believe how crowded it was and the flowers were so beautiful. After the market I was telling Gordon about a place where people stick their gum on the walls and we happened to stumble upon it; it 's Post Alley. Anyway, this place is an alley with millions of pieces of gum stuck to it; it's disgusting and cool at the same time. A must see when you go to Seattle.
After our gum experience on Post Alley we headed down to the waterfront to the Seattle Aquarium and a Harbor Cruise. The aquarium had a cool octopus and seal exhibit. We also enjoyed the tropical fish section and the tide pools.
We had a relaxing time on the Harbor Cruise; maybe too relaxing, I feel asleep. We enjoyed seeing the Seattle skyline from the water and learning about the Puget Sound. After the ferry ride we headed back uptown to the EMP Museum, which is a music museum. We thought that the EMP was cool but wouldn't have gone if it wasn't part of the City Pass. We enjoyed the Fantasy exhibit and seeing the costumes from Princess Bride and Gordon had fun playing the guitar and singing in the sound booth.
Are you tired just reading what we did in one day? Well, the day is not over, we still packed some more fun in. For dinner we went to a restaurant called Boathouse and it was AMAZING!!!! The restaurant was in a quiet little corner of an office complex but was really nice. The food was unique and so good; I think Gordon had quail. Dessert though was what I crave from this restaurant and it was bread pudding. Never in my life have I thought I would like bread pudding, but it was soooo good. Our waitress convinced us to try it and we were not disappointed. So, if you go to Seattle go to the Boathouse for bread pudding. I wish I was eating some right now.
Last, but not least we headed back up the Space Needle for a night view of Seattle and it was beautiful! Then we headed back to the hotel and crashed; we had an awesome day. I love spending time with my husband. Oh, and the next morning before heading home we did a session at the Seattle Temple which was really nice.
Thank you to the Wise's for watching our kids so we could have a fun getaway. Thank you also to my husband for spoiling me and for 12 AMAZING years together. I love you!!!!
