Talmage participated in his first Pinewood Derby and he loved it. He had a great time designing and building his car with his Dad. Talmage inspiration for his car was the story of Akela from the Jungle Book. The story is in the front of the Wolf book and he really liked it which I thought was cool.
Well his car did awesome and it was really fun watching it race. Of course we encouraged that it's about having fun and not about winning. Talmage won 2nd place which we didn't expect this being his first derby. He actually took 2nd by less than a hundredth of a second; it was a super close race. He was really excited to win 2nd and had such a great time at the whole event. Our cub leaders put on a spectacular event with drives licences, decorations, activities for younger siblings, and yummy treats. Talmage is already looking forward to next year.
